SPELLING WORDS Spelling tests are on Thursdays. New words are given out on Friday. Books are due Thursdays. Students are not doing their books,and getting a zero. Most weeks there will spelling sentences. WRItiNG We will be concentrating on writing informational text for the next few weeks. At home you can discuss with your child reading magazine articles,newspapers and even internet articles for information. MARCH IS READING MONTH Not many students participated in the incentives for March is reading month. Three students were selected to go to McDonald's for reading the most minutes. Cameron Watson. Amber Leaphart. and Austin Buell. Congratulations. Several students also won taco tickets, extra recess, and free meals at Rainforest Cafe.multiplication is used heavily. MATH Students should be practicing their multiplication facts everyday. Even thought we are doing fractions. We have steadly made it through long division (Yeah.) Please keep on practicing these, as some students are still struggling We will be working most of the rest of the year with fractions. At great way to reinforce this is to bake with your child and use in conversations. For example, What fraction of the pizza will I eat if I have two pieces? Geometry in the Real World Along with fractions, we will be doing a short unit on geometry. This will mainly focus on vocabularly and recognition.
